A diesel generator is a device that converts the thermal energy released by burning diesel fuel into mechanical energy, and then, through a generator, into electrical energy. The main components include a diesel engine (internal combustion engine), an alternator, and a control system. During operation, diesel fuel is first injected under high pressure into the combustion chamber, where it mixes with air and ignites, creating hot gases under high pressure that force the piston to move, rotating the crankshaft. This torque is then transmitted through a coupling to the generator rotor, causing a change in the magnetic field within it, which in turn induces a current in the windings, and thus generates electricity.
